The projecte led by Hamza Benattia consists of the study of indigenous communities of northern Morocco between the Bronze Age and the arrival of the Phoenicians. The Kach Kouch excavation provides a lot of information to understand these first colonial contacts and consequently the development of Mauritanian culture. It is characterized by a group of huts from the end of the 2nd Millennium BC. and an occupation between the s. VIII and VII with the first phoenician material
