The World in the Age of Torralba 1350-1450

On the 19th of February 2025, the conference «The World in the Age of Torralba 1350-1450» was held at the Museu Marítim de Barcelona (MMB), featuring a presentation by Prof. David Abulafia, renowned author of «The Great Sea: A Human History Of The Mediterranean» book.
Prof. Abulafia’s talk provided a detailed examination of the Mediterranean world before the Age of Discoveries, focusing on the period transitioning from the medieval era to the foundations of the first wave of global interaction. His research offers a comprehensive view of the Mediterranean peoples, aiming to understand the historical dynamics that shaped this region and continue to influence the modern world.
Dr. Miguel Ángel Cau, Director of the Institute of Archaeology of the University of Barcelona (IAUB), and Sari Nassar IAUB’s researcher also contributed to the event. In addition, we witnessed enthusiastic students and enthusiasts at this conference.
