- She is a Professor of Archaeology at the University of Barcelona, specializing in Late Antiquity on the Iberian Peninsula.
- She has devoted special attention to Visigothic period cemeteries and the architecture from the 4th to the 10th century.
«Where does your vocation as an archaeologist come from?
Archaeology is very much a vocation-driven field. In my case, it’s also a genetic matter, if I may say so, because I come from a family where we are all archaeologists. My father, Eduard Ripoll, passed on his passion and vocation for archaeology to my mother, my sisters, and my brother. Empúries, the great Greco-Roman city, was my first field of experimentation. It was there that I learned methodology and, most importantly, the value of teamwork and the experience of living together during excavations.»
