Short biography

PhD candidate of the Cultura Material i Arqueometria UB (ARQUB) research unit at the University of Barcelona. Graduated in Archeology by the University of Barcelona in 2018, she has finished his MA in Estudis Avançats en Arqueologia in 2020. Member since 2021 of the interdisciplinary project Mediterranean Connectivity: Economy, Trade and Commercial Circuits in the Roman West (2nd c. BCE – 1st c. CE) (MedConTaCCt), financed by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), and leaded by Alejandro G. Sinner, from the University of Victoria (Canada). In the University of Barcelona, the project is under the direction of Dr. Mª Soledad Madrid, who is in charge, alongside Dr. Jaume Buxeda, director of the ARQUB, of the development of the archaeometric studies of all the project’s materials.

Research interests

Her academic interests have mainly focused on the understanding of Antiquity by studying its material culture, with special emphasis on archaeometric research and the technological procedures of pottery production. Her dissertation focuses on the application of analytical techniques for the study of Black Gloss pottery from the 2nd century BCE to the 1st century CE in the Western Mediterranean, applying an interdisciplinary approach between archaeology and archaeometry.
