Short biography
I completed my BA in Anthropology at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina) in 2007, my MA in Archaeology at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) in 2011 and my PhD in Society and Culture at the UB in 2015. I have worked at the Laboratory of Pottery Analysis (LAC-UNLP, Argentina, 2002-2010), the Archaeological and Archaeometric Research Team of the UB (ERAAUB, since 2009) the Fitch Laboratory of the British School at Athens (2017-2019), and the research group “HUM440-El Círculo del Estrecho, Estudio Arqueológico y Arqueométrico de las Sociedades desde la Prehistoria a la Antigüedad Tardía” at the University of Cádiz (since 2019). I had postdoctoral research contracts of the programs Juan de la Cierva-Formación at the University of Cádiz (2019-2021), and Juan de la Cierva-Incorporación at the UB (2021-2022). Since 2022, I am a Serra Húnter Fellow at the UB.
Research interests
My main research line is focused on ancient technologies, economies and cultural exchanges in the Classical to early Medieval Mediterranean world using archaeology and scientific analysis of archaeological materials, with special interest in the Phoenician-Punic, Roman and Late Antique periods. I am particularly interested in examining a wide diversity of archaeological-historical problems through archaeometric analysis of ancient ceramics and the study of their provenance, technology of production and distribution. In relation to this research line, I have carried out studies on ceramic materials from a large number of archaeological sites and regions in Spain (mostly in the northeastern and southern part of the Iberian peninsula, as well as the Balearic Islands) and abroad, including northern Morocco, Sicily, Corinth (Greece) and Butrint (Albania), among others.
