Maria Feliu-Torruella

Short biography
Graduated in Art History and PhD in Didactics of Social Sciences from the University of Barcelona. Extraordinary doctorate award for the thesis “Methodologies for education and learning and factors of perception of art in primary education”. Pre-doctoral fellow of the Government of Catalonia (FIE program) and post-doc of teaching and research at the University of Barcelona. I’m an associate professor. I had worked in Didactics of artistic expression in early childhood education; Teaching social sciences; Didactics of Heritage; Heritage Education, Didactic Iconography; Archeology of the conflict and didactic Museography. She has taught in different masters (Didactic Museology at Il3; Heritage and Museology at the University of Barcelona and Museology at the University of Murcia).
Research interests
Much of her research, primarily qualitative and based in both formal and informal social studies educational settings has centred on the elaboration and piloting of educational materials. Additionally, she has supervised 9 doctoral dissertations that have been successfully defended. Her teaching is focused on ECE and Primary Teacher Training with Cultural Heritage studies and the undergraduate level and within a master’s degree on Heritage Management, which has also coordinated since July 2019.
