Short biography
I am an archaeologist specializing in the use of experimental archaeology to study prehistoric art. My research centers on the technological, social, and symbolic dimensions of rock art production, primarily focusing on sites in the Iberian Peninsula and southern Africa. Over the past decade, I have engaged in numerous international projects across Spain, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil, gaining a comprehensive understanding of global diversity in rock art technologies. From 2020 to 2023, I held a postdoctoral position at the University of Barcelona. Currently, I am a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Bordeaux (France) and principal investigator of TaphArt, a project investigating the potential existence of rock art paintings in coastal Middle Stone Age sites of southern Africa and their possible destruction due to taphonomic processes. Additionally, I hold an Honorary Research Fellowship at the Rock Art Research Institute, University of Witwatersrand (South Africa).
