The Beatriz Galindo grants help to attract new research talent at the University of Barcelona

The researchers Ivan Briz, Claudia Climent, Clara Juárez, and Albert Gandioso have been given the Beatriz Galindo grants, awarded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MCIU) to attract the research talent of scientists who are currently developing their professional careers abroad. These grants, which are awarded in the senior and junior categories, were made public on 12 June and will facilitate the recruitment and training of human research capital, as well as their mobility in sectors of strategic national interest to enhance the quality and competitiveness of teaching and research staff at universities throughout Spain.

Ivan Briz Godino, que és membre del Consell Nacional d’Investigacions Científiques i Tècniques (CONICET, Argentina), ha rebut el Beatriz Galindo, i durà a terme la recerca al Departament d’Història i Arqueologia i l’Institut d’Arqueologia de la Universitat (IAUB) com a investigador en la modalitat sènior. Briz contribuirà a impulsar una nova línia de treball a través de les metodologies de dades massives i càlcul complex (aprenentatge automàtic, anàlisi de xarxes, etc.) des d’una perspectiva de l’anàlisi sociohistòrica. En aquest context acadèmic, l’aplicació d’aquests ensenyaments a l’estudi de les dinàmiques socials i la interpretació sociohistòrica esdevé un factor decisiu per promoure les capacitats i competències en el marc de la docència i la recerca en ciències socials i humanitats.
