YOU ARE NOT ALONE

25 Nov – International Day against Gender-Based Violence.
For an archaeology free from gender-based violence.

The IAUB Equality and Intersectionality Commission publishes a poster for the International Day for the Elimination of Gender-Based Violence on 25th November. Following the suggestion of the UB Equality Unit, the slogan «You Are Not Alone» focuses on the issue of verbal violence, which unfortunately continues to be common both in the workplace and in the classroom.

For this reason, for fair archaeology free from violence, we encourage the development of a protocol for prevention, detection and action against situations of sexual harassment and harassment based on gender, gender identity or sexual orientation and all gender and LGBTIQ+ phobic behavior. This could be enacted by the entire university community and cover all our workspaces.
